The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and takes 15–30 minutes. Most patients describe a mild ache for the first day or two, managed with oral pain relief. Yes — recurrent post-surgical cases are a significant portion of our Shalya Tantra practice. We review your previous surgical records and examination findings before advising the best approach for your case.
Please bring any previous surgical reports, discharge summaries, ultrasound or MRI imaging, and pathology reports relevant to your condition. For piles and fistula, a colonoscopy report (if done) is helpful. For hernia or abdominal conditions, bring ultrasound reports. A list of current medications is also required.
Kshar Sutra, Agnikarma, leech therapy, and minor OT procedures are all day procedures — no admission required. Major surgeries (hernia, gall bladder, hydrocele, appendix) typically require 1–3 days of admission. Post-Kshar Sutra weekly thread changes are done at the OPD.
